Interactive Miniatures (MI) are programs that are simple to experience and operate, yet also full-fledged works of art accessible from a web browser. To explore them independently, all you need is any device with an internet connection and the most basic interfaces like a camera and microphone. Each Miniature tackles a selected important topic or phenomenon in art, culture (and the civilizational superstructure of culture), or science. The author of the Miniatures is Paweł Janicki.
The MI kit functions here as an open, shared, and educational resource that you can use at home, on the go, alone, or in an educational group. Experiment: create your own installations, modify parameters, and if you know how—look under the hood and hack the source code, learning the art of interactivity through practice.
You can read about the rich cultural, scientific, and artistic explorations referenced by each Miniature in the detailed descriptions accompanying them.
MI – Interactive Miniatures are part of Paweł Janicki’s TeToKi! project, a collection of original interactive sketches developed since 2011.
